Exit-Entry is an installation that Angelo Zennaro designed specifically for Ca’ Pesaro.
Entirely hand-made using the technique of ‘glass fusion’, the work is unique of its kind, both for its size and for the way in which it is adapted to its architectural setting. It comprises a total of 24 leaves of polychrome glass covering an overall area of 24 square metres.
The overlapping levels create a fragile and delicate work whose visual impact embraces the entire setting of Ca’ Pesaro. Visible for outside, the work interacts with the reflections and light of the Grand Canal and also exists in a sort of dialogue with the monumental entrance designed by Longhena. It is a work in which experimentation tries to go beyond the limits of the already seen, to explore new territories in craft and vision.
Combining everyday work, tradition and innovation, the installation is a chance to reflect upon glass as an artistic medium and upon the creative goals it enables one to achieve.

The project was been made possible by the artist’s collaboration with the Musei Civici Veneziani and the Productive Activities Department of the Venice Provincial Government. It concludes a long and profitable exploration of the craft of glassmaking which began in 2002.
